The Baracuta G4 jacket

The Baracuta G4 jacket maybe similar to a Baracuta G9 and Harrington G9, but does have it’s own differences. It has a slighty slimmer form, belted, and keeps that easy two pocket look. But of course they keept the vintage Baracuta check interior.

We at Fashicon love the classic Harrington G9 worn by the unforgetable Elvis Presley, and think that the Baracuta G4 is a good representation of the saying ‘why fix something that isn’t broken.’ A classic design adapted into the Baracuta G4.

The “55” polo

The “55” polo by Original Penguin is the original classic golf shirt with contrast tipping on collar and Original Penguin logo on the front pocket. It has underarm mesh vent for added style and protection an action gullet that helps with your golf swing.

Fashicon loves classic heritage, and does enjoy t-ing off on vacations. Naturally we had to have them, therefore are now available in stock

We believe these are simple, attractive polo shirts and that’s why they work so well.

Baracuta Raincoat

Baracuta have long thrived of some of the most defining pieces of outerwear in mens fashion that have quick become iconic, like this Ramsey Raincoat.

Ironic how we are just getting into the World Cup, while this piece was originally designed for the England Team that won the Jules Rimet trophy in 1966.

The name, while Football fanatics will know this is of the then England manager Sir Alfred Ramsey who was wearing the Baracuta Ramsey Raincoat on the day England beat Germany 4-2, leading England to their first World Cup win, in that memorable game.

Gabicci Vintage at Fashicon

Here at Fashicon, we have a excellent range of Gabicci Vintage clothing. Ranging from polo shirts to shorts, Gabicci Vintage from Fashicon is all you need this summer!

First launched in 1973,
Gabicci fast became an underground style leader and embodied a look adopted by the 'Northern Soul' music scene. In the '80's the brand appeared in the early 'casuals' look. Teamed with the hopsack trouser, Gabicci and the iconic metal G quickly became the brand mark of the day. Lately, several key music style leaders and sportsmen have been spotted wearing Gabicci Vintage, and the brand featured heavily in the new Nick Love re-make of the '80's film 'The Firm'. Through this continuing association both with football and the young music scene, Gabicci Vintage is again the brand to be seen in.

Current designs pay homage to key original knitted styles complete with mock suede trims, together with jersey tops and polos inspired by archive photographs and original samples, all bearing the iconic gold 'G'. The look is 'slim' with quality yarns and fabrics used throughout the collection in colours which are both rich and bright. Polo shirts are in 100% cotton, whilst the knitwear is finely knitted cotton with a cashmere-like finish or high quality merino wool blends.

Head over to
Fashicon for your Gabicci fix today!

The Early Years

Here at Fashicon, we would like to shed some light on Aertex's history. Courtesy of Aertex themselves.

1888 was a rather memorable year for numerous reasons; painter Van Gough infamously cut off his ear, the first ever motion picture was filmed and an experiment using aeration led to the formation of one of today's most innovative fashion brands.

Back in the late 1800s, Lancashire mill owner, Lewis Haslam, began trialling his theory of aeration; trapping air within the warp and weft of fabric. The result was a cellular cotton fabric that provided a barrier between the warmth of the skin and the chill of the atmosphere - the Aertex Company was born.

The British Land Army wore 'Aertex' as part of their uniform in World War 2 and The British 7th Armoured Division, one of the most famous formations that ever served in the British Army, wore Aertex bush shirts and jackets - a great honour for our brand.

1950s

Fashicon has an excellent range ofAertex garments and would like to share the history that led Aertex to be what it is today.

Fashion in the 50s changed significantly from the strict nature of previous decades. For the first time, teenagers were making their fashion voive heard and branched away from the trends of the older generations. Both men and women who considered themselves at the forfront of fashion were seen wearing Aertex shirts and underwear.

Aertex emerged as a symbol of prosperity and featured in the Festival of Britain in 1951. The items featured at the event were seen by the visitors as luxury garments, because they were in colours, designs and fabrics that most people had never seen before.

In 1959 Aertex, together with Ovaltine, sponsored the 'All New Netball Associations' coaching film, establishing the brand within the UK sports arena.

Farah Vintage

The Farah Brand was born in the 1920s but it was not until the 1970s in the UK that it reached the cult status it holds today.

The original Farah Slack made from hopsack canvas became an immediate hit with the youth of Britain: Slim Cut, Sharply Tailored and featuring Stain Resistant Technology, the trouser was unlike anything available at the time.

Momentum for the Brand grew and in the 1980s Farah became a must have label amongst Fashion savvy Hipsters, including the Mods, Skins, Sticksmen and Rocker-Billys. Seen on the balconies at gigs across the UK music scene, each group interpreted the brand within their own style, building key Farah items into what became their definitve looks. The clothes came to represent a sense of elitism while generating respect for those who displayed the now famous "Farah F Tab".

Today the Farah label still holds the heritage and vigour it stood for then. A whole new generation of men throughout the worl are drawn to the bran's history and inspired to rediscover the distinct look for themselves.

Here at Fashicon we have an excellent range of Farah Vintage clothing, for an affordable price whilst keeping the same high quality that Farah has always had.

Junk De Luxe

Here at Fashicon we have an excellent range of Junk De Luxe designer mens wear clothing, for an affordable price.

Contradiction is inherent and symbolic to our name, an ambiguity that has always been at the core of our brand identity. We bring you street fashion with a hint of Savile Row tradition – and on top of that a dash of Rock´n Roll. Clean cut, authentic, and always of high quality, Junk de Luxe marries contrasting designs, fabrics, prints, and colours, and brings this experience to our customers in every detail.

Each garment is designed to stand on its own as a unique piece, rather than being designed according to trends or fashion clichés. The brand is firmly rooted in fashion history’s great classics. The art of combination, and not least of inspiring both the young, fashion conscious lad and the young urban gentleman, shows the wide scope of the brand.

So head over to Fashicon.co.uk today and see our excellent range of Junk De Luke products!

Boxfresh at Fashicon

1. Someone or something that is new and cool or innovative in a fashion sense.

2. Originally derived from New York hip-hop slang describing a new pair of footwear as being “fresh out of the box”.

Welcome to Boxfresh, a very British way of life that spans the last two decades of youth culture, Boxfresh was founded by Roger Wade.

In 1989 a lot of very culturally significant stuff was going on around the world……
Chinese intellectuals and students protested for months and were then slaughtered for freedom of rights, The Americans were busy voting in the first of the Bush dynasty, Germans were tearing down the Berlin wall by hand…..

In England, teenagers waited eagerly in motorway service stations for directions to fields in the middle of nowhere. Fields of dreams immortalized in the memory of the UK dance scene.

Boxfresh was born out of this…a hedonistic generation evolving through acid jazz, trip hop, drumb and bass into UK garage, grime and dub step.

Trends and people may have come and gone….but our ethos has never changed.

We are the British streetwear originators!

Now at Fashicon we have Boxfresh in stock! Go over to Fashicon.co.uk to have a look at out stock!
