Penguin clothing - fashion with flippers!?!

Penguin clothing was first seen in 1955 when Munsingwear – an underwear and military supply company based in Minneapolis – introduced the first iconic golf shirt to America. The shirt was an instant golf classic thanks to a ribbed slice of fabric on the underarm to avoid rips during even the most enthusiastic of golf swings!?!?

The now famous
Penguin logo came about when a salesman spotted a flock of penguins in the window of a New York taxidermist, and bought one of the birds. Before long, ‘Pete’ the penguin had become the official mascot and logo of all golf shirts!!!

Penguin became a wardrobe staple during the 1980’s after regularly being worn by celebrities such as Arnold Palmer, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Richard Nixon. In 2003, the original Penguin was redesigned after retro-fashion hit the headlines again. The new range of Penguin menswear is designed for the younger and more fashion conscious consumer and has now become a legend in its own right!!!

The Penguin logo has now reached legendary status over in the USA, but surprisingly it is still quite rarely seen here in the UK. Trust me – Penguin is set to be the next big thing here in the UK and is going to explode across the men’s fashion market during the next couple of years!?!

The logo is what actually sets the clothing apart from other fashion brands, as instead of plastering a huge company emblem across its designs – Penguin are happy to settle for this cheeky little bird.

Why not beat the masses and join the Penguin fan club while the designs are still relatively exclusive in the UK. We have all the very latest
Penguin designs available now on our website at www.fashicon.co.uk so why not take a look today???
