Following on from my ‘worst fashion trends of 2008’ post last week, I thought it was only fair to turn the tables and even up the score – hence this week we are counting down the best fashion trends that appeared during 2008!?!So join us in a reflective wander through the fashion wilderness and discover which trends of 2008 we hope are here to stay!?!
1. Last year knitwear finally became cool again and the star of the show was the v-neck jumper. The v most definitely stands for versatile as the v-neck jumper can be worn to just about any social or work occasion, and never fails to make a good impression.
2. Coming a very close second on the knitwear bandwagon is the cardigan. Every man should own at least one cardigan as it can be worn virtually all year round and layered to keep your style looking fresh and chic.
3. The much maligned ‘man bag’ made its return during 2008 and after a serious upgrade they became everyone’s favourite accessory!?! Whether you choose a messenger or record bag or even a holdall you have to admit they look seriously stylish and are practical too!!
4. Adding splashes of colour to your outfit was another trend we loved last year. Wearing a funky scarf is a great way of injecting some colour and adding a touch of personality to your outfit without your friends needing to wear sunglasses every time they see you!?!
5. Our favourite fashion trend of 2008 has to be the return of the polo shirt. Comprising of a cross between a t-shirt and a shirt the collar just adds that little something extra which makes a good polo shirt scream quality and effort - while making you look slightly eccentric yet adorable too!?!
